In the early 1960s, the wine industry in Chile was stalled by a limit imposed on the size of its production, which affected its quality and the creativity of the producers. During the 70s this limitation was removed, allowing visionaries, like Pablo Morandé, to begin the arduous road that led to Casablanca from being a dairy city, to being one of the 12 great world capitals of wine. Thanks to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this valley produces fresh wines and minerals. Among its most recognized wines are Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
